Early Years

Agnes was born in Buffalo, New York in 1929 to Frank and Frances Kosmerl. Agnes soon became a big sister as her parents welcomed her brother Frank. Baby brother Rich followed a few years later. Then the young family moved west to Holmes Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio, where Frank worked as an assembly line foreman and Frances as a waitress before opening a restaurant of her own. Young Agnes was a bright, motivated student who graduated with honors from Notre Dame High School.
